Up Front at the Clown Show

A traveling Cirque du Soleil show called Alegria set up shop in Marymoor Park in Redmond, Washington. I love me some Cirque and not having to travel to Las Vegas to see it was a nice little bonus. Parking at the public park was I want to say like $20 which I found to be outrageous. I parked on the street and we walked over. Nice try, carnival folk.

The show was great. We didn't have the best seats in the house, but who cares?

At intermission we checked out the lobby which had some fun photo opportunities available.

I was intrigued by this contraption. It seemed to be the same concept the Matrix' famous bullet time where they surround you with cameras to do cool things with time and space in a video.

They had you stand on this weird... metal circle thing for acrobats? Anyway I thought the video came out pretty well. I've never seen such a thing before.

Now there wasn't really a bad seat in the house as the tent wasn't that large but we could have been closer. I was also sitting next to a large man who was kind of invading my space, so I figured I'd chat up the seat upgrade desk person just for giggles. They had some availability in various areas and pointed them out on a map. Then I was like "let's cut the BS how much to upgrade to the front row and possibly have a European clown sit on my lap?" $20 a person. Sold!

I got my new Macklemore Bogey Boy shirt on for the first time, I have a decent job at Microsoft. Sure I will still walk a mile to avoid paying for parking but... I think a little flex now and then can't hurt nobody, right?

Well my pictures definitely improved.

Cirque never disappoints.
