More Hiking and More Dumplings

We signed up for some drawings for coolers from some booze company and... won them all. I think we ended up with four pretty nice coolers before we were finished. Now how are we going to get rid of all of this stuff?!

We did some hiking at Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park. There's so many parks around that I've been forcing myself to check out new ones frequently so we don't get stuck in a rut.

I can't get enough of this weird nurse log situation. Trees will die, leaving logs or stumps, and this creates the perfect condition for more trees to grow out of their corpses. In this case the dead stump rotted away leaving this odd looking spidery root system holding the new tree up.

There's sort of a poor man's Din Tai Fung dumpling chain called Dough Zone that we checked out today. I knew we'd picked a winner when I saw marinated pig ear on the menu.

It may have been this noodle dish but at some point I realized my mouth was going numb. Szechuan buttons are edible flowers that have a strange analgesic side effect. I didn't realize I'd ordered that so it was a bit startling. I'm glad I wasn't having a stroke.
