We headed on down to Portland, OR this weekend for some McMenamins hijinx.
On the drive down I listened to some The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill. It was about Churchill especially during the Blitz. Erik Larson is one of my favorite authors because he presents nonfiction in a very exciting, dramatic, fiction-like fashion.
I like to see what little character Google Maps will use to represent different states. Oregon got a little lumberjack.
One of Lydia's favorite parts of these Portland excursions is choosing a fun new hotel each time. I like how long hotel names are getting. Tonight we slumber in the The Porter Portland, Curio Collection by Hilton.
We had a little cider flight situation at the McMenamins Market Street Pub.
The Blue Moon Tavern & Grill is one of the most happening McMenamins joints I've visited.
