Cristal on the Roof

I reached a financial milestone and I figured we should celebrate. I take every opportunity I can to mark an occasion in these dark times. Also I had a particular bottle of expensive booze that I wanted to try so what the hey.

2008 Cristal. It's one of those drinks you always hear about it rap songs, so I was excited to give it a try.

There were a couple songs that I made Lydia listen to on the roof but some that come to mind are Nelly's "Ride Wit Me":

And if shorty want to pop, we popping the Crist'
Shorty wanna see the ice, then I ice the wrist

and R. Kelly's "Ignition":

Crystal poppin' in the stretch Navigator
We got food everywhere
As if the party was catered

I'll do a little Wikipedia borrowing:

"Cristal was first created in 1876 for Alexander II of Russia, and is viewed by many as the first prestige cuvée. As the political situation in Russia at the time of his rule was unstable, the Tsar feared assassination. He ordered that champagne bottles for his Three Emperors Dinner be made clear, so that he could see the bubbles and also to prevent an explosive being hidden beneath them, as could happen with a typical dark green indented bottle. Louis Roederer commissioned a Flemish glassmaker to create a clear lead glass Champagne bottle with a flat bottom. The Champagne has since become known as "Cristal".

The wine was not commercially available until 1945."

Cristal was delicious as anticipated but too expensive to ever buy ever again. The end.
