A Day of Maldives Leisure

A new and unexpected benefit of being a resident of tiny Meeru Island is that I had nowhere to worry about exploring. Anywhere else I would have gotten restless and felt guilty that I wasn't out seeing the sights and mingling with the locals. As a result this was maybe the longest sit and chill type vacation that I can remember ever having.

I thought it was fun that the food in the cafeteria had these fan things near them to shoo away any possible flies.

It's odd to think that beaches are just big piles of dead animals' body parts. Romantic!

I think the deal was that we had one dinner at a "real" restaurant included in our stay. We picked Hot Rock which ended up being a very odd experience. I think it must have been staffed by buffet cafeteria people or something because they weren't very good at serving.

I don't think I've ever seen a lobster sliced this way before.
