Der Zitronenknoten ist Köstlich

Today we stopped by the bakery/coffee shop Kaffeeklatsch. The scene I walked into was the most German place in America.

I was a big fan of the baked goods labeled in German only. Do you want some blechkuchen or do you want to get the eff out of my bakery? While ordering I went with the flow same as I would in Germany. I may google it afterwards but I'm not going to ask what it is while ordering like some kind of tourist. I have self respect.

There was some live German music being played including an accordion. And at many of the tables sat people speaking German. I was very impressed.

Leavenworth Fiber

Today we drove to check out the Christmas lights in Leavenworth, WA, a town that wishes it was in Bavaria.

It was super crowded and lots of places were out, but we managed to find some sorry naked gingerbread men.

We had some mulled wine at a few places.

I bought some rad Santa beard masks.

We went to a pretty legit seeming German restaurant called Andreas Keller Restaurant.

There was even a dude playing the accordion in lederhosen.

I got some wiener schnitzel that was pretty good, and it even had spaetzle on the side. What could go wrong.

I happily munched along, minding my own business, when I realized that one of the mushrooms was in fact a big chunk of cardboard. They comped my meal and I had already eaten most of it. Who's laughing now?
