A Buttery Atari Christmas Party

Today we were excited to have our friends over for our annual Christmas party.

I saw this Christmas tree butter sculpture and knew that we needed it for our party as a reflection of our midwestern culture. Our people have long used butter as a medium to create three-dimensional works of art.

We started getting a ton of baby clothes from our lovely family and friends, some new and some hand-me-down.

At our party we did our beloved white elephant gift exchange, where we were the proud winners of a Korean toilet seat that says "fresh fish" on the lid.

Jason opening up one of our gifts: some laundry detergent.

We played some Frogger and other Atari games.

It's a shame but even the most beautiful butter sculpture is destined to be smooshed onto some bread.

Seattle Christmas Party

I started my new job at Microsoft and while my job seems to be permanently work from home, I wanted to take Lydia to check out their headquarter campus in nextdoor Redmond, WA.

Pretty much all of the buildings seem to still be shuttered due to covid, but we had a nice stroll around anyway.

We had friends over for our annual Christmas party. It was our first outside of St. Louis, so we weren't sure if people would come or enjoy themselves but it all worked out well. The white elephant gift exchange is always good for a laugh.

The kids these days are always begging to play Atari at parties so I had that sucker set up and ready to roll.

A Very Cold Covidy Christmas

After all the rave reviews of our socially distanced outdoor Halloween party in Linda's backyard, we decided to have a socially distanced outdoor Christmas party in Linda's backyard!

Our traditional white elephant gift exchange was observed. My favorite part is the moment right after they open it where they're like "what the heck is this thing?"

There was either dancing or an attempt to keep warm via circulation.

Lolo won a like 10 pound bag of Tootsie Rolls. I think this might have been his first experience with them so even if he doesn't really like them he'll have plenty of time to acquire a taste.

It got cold.

After the party we bought some Britishy Christmas cracker things for our own Christmas celebrations to come.

Lydia somehow ordered herself yet another print of the photo of her and confirmed zodiac killer Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz.

Annual Christmas Party

We had our annual installment of Christmas party magic tonight. The white elephant gift exchange got real.

Everybody was fighting over who got to take home these sexy buttons.

I am proud to report that I am now the owner of a President* toilet brush.

There was a good mix of presents you might actually want and year old calendars.

Le French showed up in force. If they show up too many more times I may have to try to learn their names!

I assume Joel traded something of great value to get his hands on a Milito button.

Great, great value.

Flabongos were deployed for maximum sippy time.

I was just resting.
