RFT Showcase STL 2019

I was able to work a Riverfront Times event that I never have before: Showcase STL. It takes place in the Grove, with lots of different bars and venues hosting different acts all over the place.

Well if there's one thing I learned about showcases it's that they need a lot of banners hung.

Up high banners, down low banners, all around banners.

Ben & Jerry's was on the spot with free ice cream and social justices.

A group that I know personally was playing so I was pretty much honor bound to go see them.

The cases were shown and the day was won.

Riverfront Times Iron Fork

Today we worked at the RFT's Iron Fork event at City Museum.

"As one of the largest food events in town, Riverfront Times' 12th Annual Iron Fork offers a chance for St. Louisans to try 30 of the tastiest local eateries in one night! Tickets include unlimited samples from each restaurant and drinks including beer, wine and craft cocktails. Guests will also enjoy admission to City Museum, music, plus the marquee of the event, the heart-pounding Culinary Throwdown with a celebrity judging panel and the Mixologist exhibition."

Maybe under the "while supplies last" nature of the food and drinks it made sense to show up early, but man was it annoying. A ton of people came earlier than they were supposed to and we just made them stand outside.

VIP tickets, which as staff we effectively possessed, were $70 each.

United We Brunch

I did a little side job with the Riverfront Times. United We Brunch was a fun little event at the Chase Park Plaza. Mimosas were had.

I helped with a little of the break down after the event was over. I was strongly considering taking an ice sculpture home with me and putting it in the bathtub. They were pretty heavy and I parked pretty far away... so I settled for watching the ice men murder them.

Oyster Festing

After a long hiatus we are back working RFT events. This time they are more flagship type parties rather than setting up a little table at every piddly fair in St. Louis. I like this situation better.

Our first event was the Shuck Yeah oyster festival at Molly's in Soulard. Not only do we get to go to the events and get paid for it, we get to do a little sampling of samples as well.

We were the ticket takers and the bracelet appliers.

We had oysters for days.
