Spuds With My Bud

Today Ernie got some exciting gifts from his family.

His St. Louis Grandma bought him a fun rattle thing.

Aunt Zoe bought him a singing and sound repeating cactus that has been making the rounds on social media.

We watched the sun set over Lake Washington while strolling through Juanita Bay Park. I like this park a lot because it's very close to our house yet has a wild wetlands feel to it and has a lot of fun animals in the area.

Ernie tried his first swing set at Juanita Beach Park. He liked it fine but I think it's still early for him and he was having more fun watching the other kids play.

We stopped at Spud Fish & Chips on the way home and Ernie tried his first french fry.

The Beavers of Juanita Bay Park

Today the big Ernie field trip was to Juanita Bay Park.

We saw a deer and I think a rabbit too. It was like the Garden of Eden over here.

Juanita Bay Park overlooks a quiet little corner of Lake Washington, where the water is calm enough for plants to grow and birds to roost. The four of us were admiring the scene when we noticed what I think were beavers swimming around and eating the lily pads like a big salad.

The walk from Juanita Bay Park to Juanita Beach Park is really nice.

Ernie likes his high contrast mobile so much that he gets really happy when you lay him on his changing table. To the point that if he's in a bad mood it's a good idea to change his diaper just to do a reset.

This whole time I had envisioned my dear mother holding a silent vigil ever since I moved away from the midwest. Maybe sitting in a rocking chair with some candles lit and looking through old pictures of me, softly weeping. Instead I come to find out she's out living her best life at the Illinois State Fair. Must be nice!

We had so much fun playing with Evan's Quest 2 that he bought one for us to have! What a guy, what a guy.

We checked out Juanita Bay Park. There's some really fun wetland areas there where fun animals live.
