Beach Boy

Ern likes to touch the mannequin at Bellevue Square, I assume to make sure that they don't come to life.

With our big France trip completed I went back to my fancy flights kitchen to cook up something new.

I'm usually able to ignore the Royce' siren call at the mall but this time I went for it.

Some green pins appeared on our map signifying that some flights had officially been booked.

I like these fun soda flavors but they never have them in diet. Oh well.

Ern's Tennessee grandparents joined us for a Beach Boys concert at Chateau Ste. Michelle. Beach Boys' 1965 "Barbara Ann" was one of Ernie's earliest and favorite songs. He was already able to make the song's repetitive "ba ba ba" sound so it seemed like a natural choice to introduce him to.

We had a LOT of rocking to do before we'd ever get to "Barbara Ann", though.

We had a lot of fun singing and dancing and clapping the night away. There was a lot of wine too, which was nice.

We had to leave before the show was over but we were rocking all the way back to the car.

Swim and Swill

Big Ern did a swim class today.

He should pretty much be teaching the class at this point.

We like Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery because it's pretty much a park you can drink at.

Wine Club Wednesday

Ern was Erning around at school then we picked him up after work and had some fun.

Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery's little wine club is primarily about buying wine but we're always on the lookout for the extra perks that come along for the ride. The winery sometimes has these Wine Club Wednesday events. I think a few of their spaces are only open to members during a certain time period? I'm not 100% on the rules.

But one thing that was definitely new and fun was that they opened up their big indoor event space for our use and put some games out to play. There were few to no other people there too which meant Ern could roll around, explore, and make as many weird noises as he wanted to while we ordered food and wine and had quite a time.

Back in my day board games could fit in a box and you could store them on a shelf. This was like connect 4 dinner plates.

What a nice day.

Wine Time

We're members of the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery wine club so we're always stopping by to take advantage of their space and hang out.

Ernie was eating Lydia's jacket drawstring like a delicious linguine.

I think the story is that Chateau was a sponsor of a Kentucky Derby that was held without fans present due to covid, and so was stuck with a ton of rose wine with no one to drink it. So they were selling it at $5 a pop to club members. I was a fan so I bought tenish cases to store in my wine cellar/bedroom.

After a few sips we headed to lunch at the nearby Woodinville Cut Shop Restaurant and Lounge.

Brusha, Brusha, Brusha

Today we went to Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville, Washington for some sips.

Ernie is becoming quite the fried tuber aficionado.

Ernie got a nice Halloween card from his Grandma and Grandpa.

Part of Ernie's bedtime routine is now a chocolate flavored iron supplement. Until he starts eating more solid foods this is part of his deal. Anyway having never had actual chocolate he is a pretty big fan.

When we brush Ernie's teeth we sing the 1950s "Brusha, brusha, brusha" jingle from Ipana toothpaste referenced in Grease. We are the keepers of American culture.
