You'll Be Back

We finally saw Hamilton at the Paramount. I've been wanting to see this show for years but it was so popular and expensive that I practiced some delayed gratification. No longer!

I liked the show a lot. It is very dense. I almost want to read it after watching it because there were so many references and concepts packed in there that my inner history nerd wished I could have recorded some of it. I think my favorite character was King George III.

Once at the Fox

Continuing on this weekend's theme of free tickets, Lydia scored a couple from school. This time they were for a musical called Once playing at the Fabulous Fox.

The Fox is my favorite. It's so excellently filled with gaudy details that I notice something new every time I go.

Fish dogs? Got'em.

Hands down the coolest thing about this musical is this interactive thing that they were doing before the show and at intermission. The sole set was an Irish pub, and the actor/musicians were just rocking out on stage before the show had really even started. I was too scared to take part, and I saw not one other person do so, but the attendant who showed us our seats said that audience members were welcome to hop up on stage and buy a drink at the bar. Now that's impressive.
