We did some driving lessons at Tot Lot Park.
We walked around the neighborhood a bit and scoped out some of the Halloween decorations.
We visited the aquarium and it was some pride day thing.
Ernie was pretty hyped about his first drag performance.
Ok enough of that. Let's look at some fish.
Ernie picked up his first coin off the ground. It was a penny. Nowhere to go but up from here!
His grandma Helen gave him a little coin bank and some coins last time she was in town. Ern has enjoyed playing with it, putting coins in over and over then shaking it like a rattle. Well I got him to say "money"... sounds more like "muh" at this point.
Anyway today we were going to the aquarium and I found a penny in the parking lot and I showed it to Ernie and told him we could put it in his bank when we got home. That was the first time I've done that with him. Money on the ground is sort of going out of style I think compared to when I was his age because of credit cards. Anyway we were walking between the old and new aquarium buildings and Ernie spotted a penny, said his version of "money" and bent over and picked it up. I was very proud and clapped. He even let me hold it when I told him we could put it in his bank when we got home. Back in Kirkland He proudly popped both into his little bank. My mom did a good job of teaching me about money and investing at an early age and that's something I intend on repeating.
One of the best sounds for me is when I'm giving him raspberries or something else that's making Ernie roar with laughter. After he's done laughing a ton he'll say "dada" in a laughy sound of tone like "dada you're crazy bro" kind of thing. I get a big feeling of accomplishment from it.
We were both pretty proud about it.
Saved it for later.
I did a flight at Old Stove Brewing.
We put our new penny safely into the bank Nana Helen gave us at home. The rich get richer!
