Moldova then Mickey

These hurricane updates have really been amusing me. I feel like they could all be about Ernie.

Moldova accomplished. Onward and upward!

Returning to Paris' Charles de Gaulle was like the day after a big party. The Olympics were over and now was the hangover.

This little sandwich shop at the airport was in the process of taking down all of their festive olympics decorations.

There was some type of volunteer-looking group meeting happening. This may be the extra staff to help Olympics-goers navigate travel.

Big Ern spotted a sign for Disneyland Paris. What a novel idea! Perhaps we should go?

Hôtel Dream Castle was not a Disney hotel but I thought that they did a good job pretending. The lobby had several magical things going on.

I don't think I've ever seen this little touch in my entire life; a little staircase for kids to interact with the front desk.

Is this a castle from my dreams?

With travel time and everything I don't think we really had enough time to engage with Disneyland directly but we did plenty of the adjacent Disney stuff.

I was sad to see a decommissioned Planet Hollywood in the Disney Village shopping area.

We stopped at Disney Sequoia Lodge to have a drink and kill some time.

They had some fun cocktails. I had a

"BLACKWOOD- 15,5€

Calvados, Genepi Liqueur, Pear Purée, Lime Drink®.
Finnbarra Irish Craft Cider,
Broken Oreo"

It was time to head over to the Disneyland Hotel for today's main event: the Royal Banquet!

"A FEAST FIT FOR ROYALTY
Join Mickey, Minnie, and friends dressed in royal attire as they host a sumptuous buffet banquet honouring the legacy of Disney families and their illustrious chefs."

I of course took a little peekypoo at the champagne menu. After all of those tours I'm sort of a big deal now.

Ernie was a little bit freaked out by the characters initially but we let him have a few brief encounters with them and by the end I think he warmed up a lot.

I... ordered some of that champagne.

I was legitimately impressed by the spread on offer. They had a ton of stuff including some more expensive items.

Goofy begged me to stop eating. Gorsh, no can do good buddy.

When the sun went down we found that we had a pretty darn good vantage point for the Disney Electrical Sky Parade show.

I liked their incredibly wide mouthed champagne glasses. Drinking out of flutes all the time gets boring.

The crush of everyone battling to get on the buses back to the hotels was not super pleasant but overall it was a lovely evening.
