The Black Bean Incident

Ern gave a kiss of one of the new babies at his daycare.

Big Ern played at the playground at Totem Lake Park.

We got Chipotle on the way home and Ern ordered a kids meal. We didn't realize the beans were a little bit spicy and Ern got some in his eyes. He was sad.

Boxing Day

Really the only reason to buy toys is that they come in boxes that are way more fun.

Lydia wanted to pack him up and ship him to Dupo but I convinced her to postpone.

St. Paddy's

Big Ern is about to change schools. We found one that's closer to home and also does the meal prep, so that was a win. Here he is taking a last ride around the school's neighborhood with some of his friends.

Ernie got a St. Patrick's Day card from Nana and Baba and had to thoroughly investigate it.

Diaper Man

Ern has figured out that he can squeeze around the safety fence we put up in order to retrieve and reorganize our shoes.

Now that Ern is a standing man we sometimes have to put his diaper on while he's working on his projects.

Wine Time

We're members of the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery wine club so we're always stopping by to take advantage of their space and hang out.

Ernie was eating Lydia's jacket drawstring like a delicious linguine.

I think the story is that Chateau was a sponsor of a Kentucky Derby that was held without fans present due to covid, and so was stuck with a ton of rose wine with no one to drink it. So they were selling it at $5 a pop to club members. I was a fan so I bought tenish cases to store in my wine cellar/bedroom.

After a few sips we headed to lunch at the nearby Woodinville Cut Shop Restaurant and Lounge.

Adventuring All Over Town

Today we had lots of good adventures.

Elysian had a fun Juice Dust event thing at their Elysian Fields location to promote their new IPA flavor. If there's one thing that Seattle DOES NOT NEED it's another IPA flavor but here we are. Elysian generally does a really good job with events so I was excited about attending regardless.

I was really nerding out over the dystopian fake advertisements they had displayed.

I figured I could drink a plain ol beer at home so I opted for something a little more exotic:

a michelada made with a Juice Dust beer. It was served in a very unique beer can before the top was applied.

Ern wanted a taste of my delicious beverage. Only about 21 more years to wait!

Among the other fun things they had going on was a manned photo booth.

Most awesome of all was they had a tattoo artist on site who was offering free Juice Dust related tattoos. I tried to convince Zoe to go for this but she declined despite already having like 45 tattoos.

We then took Big Ern to check out Sam Smith Park.

I was excited to hit Adey Abeba. I think this might be my first Ethopian food since moving to the Seattle area.
